Our Commitment

1st Private Capital, Inc. wants this website to be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, voice control, or other assistive technology. Our target is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

We treat accessibility as part of building the site rather than a separate cleanup pass. New pages and features are built against the same target.

What We Build For

  • Full keyboard operability, with visible focus indicators throughout the site. Every interactive control can be reached and operated without a mouse.
  • A "skip to content" link at the top of every page so keyboard and screen reader users can bypass the navigation.
  • Semantic structure - real headings in order, landmark regions, and labeled form fields - so assistive technology can convey the page correctly.
  • Text alternatives for images that carry meaning, and empty alternatives for images that are purely decorative, so screen readers do not announce noise.
  • Sufficient color contrast between text and its background, and no reliance on color alone to communicate meaning.
  • Respect for reduced-motion preferences. When your system requests reduced motion, animation and parallax are minimized.
  • Content that remains readable and functional when zoomed and across screen sizes, including small mobile devices.
  • Pages that remain fully readable when JavaScript is unavailable; no content is hidden behind script that never runs.
  • Form errors and status messages that are announced to assistive technology rather than shown only as a visual change.

Calculators and Interactive Tools

The calculators on this site are built as standard labeled form controls that recalculate as you type, and their results are exposed as text rather than as images or canvas drawings, so they can be read by assistive technology. If any tool is difficult to complete with your setup, tell us and we will work with you directly.

Client Portal

The secure client portal is held to the same target as the public site. Because it is behind sign-in, it receives less outside testing than public pages. If you encounter a barrier inside the portal, please report it using the details below and we will prioritize it.

Known Limitations

We want to be straightforward rather than claim more than we can support:

  • Some pages embed third-party content, such as maps, that we do not control and cannot fully remediate. Where that content carries information you need, the same information is available in text elsewhere on the page or from us directly.
  • Documents supplied in the course of a transaction, including files produced by other parties such as title companies or appraisers, may not meet the same standard. We will provide an accessible alternative on request.
  • We have not obtained a third-party accessibility audit or published a formal conformance report for this site.

Ongoing Work

Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a checkbox. We review pages as they are built and when they change, and we prioritize reported barriers for repair. Where a fix will take time, we will tell you what the timeline looks like and offer another way to get what you need in the meantime.

Describing the page, the assistive technology and browser you were using, and what happened helps us reproduce and fix the problem faster.
